Deposit Taking ATM
Now available at all four locations, we offer a deposit taking ATM for your convenience. This ATM dispenses cash and accepts cash and checks for deposits into your account.
Shelby Savings Bank offers free notary services to customers. A Notary Public can witness and certify the authenticity of signatures and documents and also administer an oath of affirmation. Shelby Savings Bank employees can provide notary services for powers of attorney, affidavits, deeds, mortgages, liens, leases, real estate title transfers and any other document requiring a witness and verification.
Self-Service Automatic Counting Machine
Shelby Savings Bank self-service coin counting machine is easy and fun to use. Just pour in your mixed coins and watch them add up. The machine accurately counts up to 600 coins per minute, saving you the time and effort of counting, sorting, or rolling. Available at the Center and Hemphill Branches.
Shelby Savings Bank issues cashier's checks, which are considered more acceptable for certain transactions because they provide a guarantee of payment. Customers may need a cashier's check for the down payment on a house, for the deposit and/or first month's rent on an apartment or to buy an automobile. ($5.00 fee applies for all Cashier's Checks)
VISA Pre-Paid Money Cards
Money Cards are convenient, safe and can be used anywhere debit cards are accepted, including online and at ATMs. Funds are available immediately from $25 to $500 (purchase fees apply) at all Shelby Savings Bank locations.
Medallion Signature Guarantee
The most common use for the Medallion signature guarantee is for transferring or selling securities. If you hold securities in physical certificate form and want to transfer or sell them, you will need to sign the certificates or securities powers. You'll probably need to get your signature "guaranteed" before a transfer agent will accept the transaction. This process protects the person who owns the stock or certificate by making it harder for someone to forge your signature. Transfer agents insist on signature guarantees because they limit their liability and losses if a signature turns out to be forged. That liability is on the financial institution that accepted the signature and put the Medallion stamp on the certificate.
Electronic Deposit Insurance Estimator (EDIE)
If you have more than $250,000 on deposit in the bank, you may have more — or less — deposit insurance coverage than you think. Use EDIE- Online to calculate your FDIC insurance coverage. EDIE EDIE calculates the insurance coverage for Personal Accounts — deposits held by people in single accounts, joint accounts, POD/ITF accounts, living trust account, irrevocable trust accounts, and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs); Business Accounts — deposits held by corporations, partnerships, and organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit; and Government Accounts — deposits held by public units such as school districts, cities, municipalities, counties, and states.
